October SCUBA news

An amazing start to Spring (weather wise) has seen a sudden emergence of divers from their Winter hibernation and with water temperatures rising to a dizzy heights of 15 degrees C, drysuits are being replaced by wetsuits for the ones brave enough to jump in and take advantage of the unseasonal warmth.
With Spring comes the usual sudden rush in annual equipment servicing and tank hydro tests in order to be ready for when the real heat arrives and according to the weather bureau, we’re in for a hot Summer (not before time and not that you’d know with the rain and cold winds being dished up over the last couple of days!)

With October also comes our annual DIVE CLUB MEMBERSHIP renewal.  Please read the full newsletter (in club member inboxes now!) for details on our “Early Bird” renewal offers.   Climbing back out of the Covid pit has seen our last 12 months come back to some normality with an increase in club activities and gatherings, and the month of October is no different.

Looking back over the last 12 months, we’re very happy to have been able to run so many of our free guided club dives, helping and assisting novice and experienced divers alike with a professional guiding service second to none, we look back at some fabulous guest speakers, Elodie Camprasse, John Lippmann, Ian Lockwood and to have brought you the biggest amount of prizes ever at our annual trivia night, now having hit a record give away amount of $45,000 worth of prizes given away to members since kicking off our trivia nights, all that along with our annual dive club members Xmas BBQ.

We look back at some fabulous trips again this year, The Gili Islands and the Solomon islands with a report on our Solomon Islands dive trip featured in this newsletter.
