THINGS TO DO IN AND AROUND THE WATER THESE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
One way or another, kids love being in the water, spraying each other with water, snorkeling or learning about sea creatures. As it is our primary concern to get kids (and adults!) enjoying the water, we have compiled a list of activities that kids can take part in over these coming Summer school holidays.

This activity is suitable for children aged 6-12, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

There will be live music, food, drinks, water and, of course, the biggest Slip’n’Slide ever to hit asphalt. Don’t worry – it’s padded. Bring your water buckets, floaties, and water guns (non-realistic of course), to squirt, spray, splash and get everyone soaked.

Date: 10/01/2016 9am – 7pm

Water Wars, Melbourne Star Observation Wheel
Opponents go to opposing battle stations with buckets of water balloons. Each battle station has a water balloon launcher. Place a balloon in the launcher, pull down on the handle, aim, and fire! Your balloon soars high through the air and comes crashing down on your opponent’s battle station. There are strategically placed slots and holes in the structure that allows the water to come through. You might get sprinkled, sprayed, or saturated, but watch out, retaliation comes quickly!
Open: from 26 December daily, throughout the school holidays

Under The Sea 3D, Melbourne IMAX Theatre
Audiences will be transported to uniquely exotic locations including The Great Barrier Reef, Southern Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, to experience face-to-face encounters with some of the ocean’s most mysterious and unusual creatures.
The filmmaking team has captured some of the most extraordinary marine life ever shot on film, including the Stonefish – the world’s most venomous fish – and a new species of shark yet to be described by science. Audiences will also be treated to an up-close look at South Australia’s exquisite Leafy Sea Dragon and the endangered puppy-like Sea Lion – animals that can be found nowhere else on Earth.
