October SCUBA update

As we breathe a collective sigh of relief with some easing of restrictions and are starting to look forward to the resumption of some form of “normality” (whatever that might be nowadays) we must keep in mind that although painful to all of us, damaging to business and the economy, this will one day be over and we will one day return to diving activities the way we’ve known them to run in the past.

There is nothing we want more than to re-connect properly with our divers and to return to our weekly club dives along with our monthly club nights.  Having said that, we know that moving forward things will be different and we’ve already begun taking the steps necessary to ensure that you feel comfortable coming back to SCUBA CULTURE just like you did in the past.

Our frontline shop staff including myself have undergone some COVID-19 safety training to ensure that our shop not only meets but exceeds the required safeguards put in place by the authorities. We have developed a COVID safe plan and are in the throes of putting in place new and somewhat stringent protocols pertaining to the hire of dive gear, we do realise that some people may find this over the top but, we’re doing this in the interest of everyone’s safety and wellbeing.

We do foresee that the future will require all of us to keep on wearing face masks, sanitise and frequently wash our hands and observe social distancing and we’re completely OK with that.  We do see that club dives will be different but no different to what we were doing when we were last allowed to run these activities – again with a “socially distanced” dive brief and buddy check and with no sharing of equipment. Looking forward to seeing you all again.
