Xavier’s Editorial – November 2013
Still on a high from the Galapagos, it is hard not to get enthused about our marine environment and the enjoyment that it brings us divers.
Looking ahead, we would like to let you know that SCUBA CULTURE will be shifting premises early in the new year.
We can’t announce yet as to where we will be moving until all is finalised but we can categorically say that we will remain local.
Simply, the main catalyst for the move is due to us having outgrown the current facility and needing to have a better and bigger showroom and classroom. We also hope to making parking easier. Further information and announcements will be made in due course.
One of the main reasons for the success of SCUBA CULTURE is the strength of our dive club, again this has been seen in the continued growth of the club and the amount of renewals for the 2014 year. Certainly one of the best aspects of the club is the variety of travel offered to divers and once again, we have taken it to a new level with some sensational trips scheduled for 2014, 2015 and now 2016.
We kick off 2014 with a re-scheduled trip to the stunning Ewens’ Ponds, Port Macdonnel South Australia, diving a network of crystal clear fresh water ponds and taking a day out to tour the Coonawarra wine region fully chauffeured (January 24 to 27) A great dive trip for under $500 (3 places left!)
This is followed up with a further venture into South Australia as we head to Port Lincoln, boarding Princess II to dive with the Great Whites of Neptune Island and swim with one of Australia’s biggest Australian Sea Lion colony at Hopkins Island (1 – 4 February 2014) Another fabulous dive trip (only 1 vacancy left).
In June we re-visit the jewel in the crown of the Solomon Islands as we head back to the Uepi Island Dive resort for 10 days of diving some of most pristine coral reef formations teeming with fish life and historic WWII wrecks, the entire island resort is booked for SCUBA CULTURE. The food is out of this world in an amazing all inclusive package where non divers can also have a fabulous time snorkelling the house reef and touring local sites. Anyone contemplating a vacation in June needs to act fast, we only have 1 beach front bungalow and 1 garden unit left! You won’t regret making the journey!
Our August trip with a back to back live-aboard adventure diving from the luxurious Philippine and Palau Siren is full!
Our trip to stunning Micronesia’s Truk Lagoon aboard the Truk Siren is nearing capacity, with only 1 cabin left on the ship! The trip is Ex-Cairns and departs 10 November 2014 catering to recreational and Tec divers alike with Nitrox on tap, again amazing value with up to 33 dives over 10 nights aboard the ship, all meals and beverages, flights, accommodation and transfers at under $6000!
With so many trips now full or nearing capacity, this means that we have had to look at running yet another trip.
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to visit the best of the best aboard sheer floating luxury as we head to Cairns and hook up with the crew of Australia’s very best live aboard vessel “SPIRIT OF FREEDOM” from September 7 to 11, we will dive the famous Cod Hole and Ribbon Reefs for less than $2000 you must tick the Great Barrier Reef off the bucket list! Get in early and book the room of your choice! Additionally, we are happy to announce that early in the new year, members of the Spirit of Freedom crew will host a club night at SCUBA CULTURE, hopefully, the first club night in our new venue!
