Most of our staff are all in-house trained from Open Water to Instructor status, and if their background is from elsewhere, they have been put through a rigorous indoctrination and training procedure to ensure that our values are reflected in their approach to their work.

(Director, Instructor Trainer, Course Director)
Xavier has been diving since the age of 8, Xavier's love of diving and the sea comes from his father, whom as well was a diving instructor in the 60's in France. Xavier is a NAUI Course Director, an NASDS Instructor Trainer, SSI Instructor certifier, and is a DAN Oxygen Provider and First Aid Instructor.
Xavier has taught Scuba extensively both in Australia and overseas. With well over 3000 certified Open Water divers trained in his career, Xavier is arguably one of the most experienced instructors of Scuba in Australia.

Melissa is a keen diver with both work and academic accreditations and experience in the tourism, travel, and communications industries.
She is perfectly poised to assist you in your dive travel planning.

(Dive Control Specialist Instructor / Service Technician)
Andrew keeps himself busy by teaching various scuba courses, servicing scuba gear and helping to uphold a very high level of public decency. He has been diving since last century and so is one of our most experienced and well regarded Instructors.

(Advanced Open Water Instructor / Technical Instructor)
Marco computer nerd by trade, Instructor by nature!! Marco's hard work and love of the underwater environment has seen him come all the way through his training to Instructor. His passion for technical diving has seen him progress further into the depths of cave diving and into GUE training. Marco has graced our parties dressing at both ends of the spectrum, recently as Jesus Christ, prior to that as Ozzie Osborne Marco began diving in 2003, taught by Xavier, Marco's air consumption resembled somewhat of a human vacuum cleaner, now days Marco has curbed his air greed based upon a recent study revealing that the rest of the human population on the planet also needs to breathe air to survive. To his fellow dive crew members, Marco is occasionally known as Phat JC, you'll need to ask Andrew about that one!

Dive Control Specialist/shop staff
A graduate of our Diploma in Outdoor Receation partner program with the Gordon Institute of TAFE, Brenda in fact came through our very first class back in 2002. Brenda has recently spent some time overseas working as an Outdoor Coordinator on school camps gaining valuable experience in activity management and coordination, she plays a pivotal role in our kids snorkeling programs. At the dizzying height of an entire 5 feet, this fabulous member of our staff is only dwarfed by 1 single thing on the face of the earth... Her appetite!

(Advanced Open Water Instructor)
Brad learnt to dive with us in early 2007 and straight away the bug of diving bit him... bit him very hard in fact, so much so that within months of doing his Open Water course, Brad was taking his dive education further and further, as well as gaining valuable diving experience by partaking on numerous club dives and trips including our 2008 trip to Vanuatu, 2 dive trips to South Australia's Ewen Ponds, several trips to Queensland, as well as locking himself into our Kangaroo Island dive extravaganza in January 2009. Brad is now active with SCUBA CULTURE in a leadership and Instructional capacity running regular club dives as well as teaching dive courses, and being part of our Helicopter Rescue Training Support Dive Team.

Marine Biologist & Open Water Instructor
Kirsty learnt to dive with Scuba Culture at the start of 2009, she came to us as a recent Honours Graduate of a Marine Biologist degree. Scuba Culture then opened the door to the magic of the underwater world through SCUBA diving. Kirsty has developed her own Marine Life Studies program and delivers courses in order to share her knowledge of the marine world with new and experienced divers alike. Kirsty is now an Open Water Instructor and keen to show you her underwater world.

(Open Water Instructor)
David is another graduate from The Gordon’s program, he is also now a SCUBA CULTURE Open Water Instructor who came through the 2009 Instructor course. David has gained valuable experience in the dive industry both in Western Australia on Ningaloo Reef and in falling off a dive vessel in Queensland. David answers to the name of Rowdy due to his boisterous and loud mannerism.

(Advanced Open Water Instructor)
Arriving in Australia in 1994 from sunny Ireland, Anthony took up diving in 1995 and became a dive con and then an instructor in 2009. He spent about 17 years in the corporate world but gave most of it up in 2009. He could probably still 'create an ongoing strategy to enhance your forward-looking customer-focussed business plan' but he'd much rather teach you to be a diver. He is excited that his daughters are loving diving, too, and looking forward to taking them on dive trips until they no longer want to be seen in public with their father. Favourite quote? 'Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

(Open Water Instructor)
Tamika is one of the latest Open Water Instructors to come from the Gordon Institute of Tafe, with Scuba Culture providing all of her dive training and nourishing her passion for exploring the deep blue two thirds of the world. Dynamic, full of energy and enthusiasm, with a sense of purpose, she is able to both get things going and to get things done. You may remember her from such Christmas parties as '2009 - Austin Powers' where she played Foxxy Cleopatra (a whole-lotta-woman!!) A sense of direction better than most, she’ll find the way back to the exit point saving you a painful snorkel back at the end of the dive.

(Dive Control Specialist)
Skye, previously a night shift worker, has now transitioned into daytime work with week ends off that allow her to go diving at normal hours and when boats actually run. Therefore expect to see her in the water a lot more as well as assisting on our courses and with Refreshers.

(Dive Control Specialist)
Anja started her scuba training with Scuba Culture in Jan '09, terrified of seaweed, sand and pretty much everything else. Soon enough though she was signing on to every course available, and diving as much as she could. These days she's a little bit obsessed with underwater photography. When not diving she's working on her phD in semiconductor physics, experimenting with home designed hair styles and colours and thinking about diving.

(Dive Control Specialist/Shop)
Sarah, not to be confused with Sara, is one of our newest Dive Control Specialists and staff members. Previously a professional dance Instructor she can help you with all your underwater moves. The Shellfish Shimmy, Turtle Tango and her personal favourite, the Whale Waltz.
